Regional Coordinators

Coordinators are sought for the following regions to serve for four years:

To take up post immediately:

  • Cheshire & Merseyside (Cheshire and Merseyside regions)
  • London (All London Boroughs including Richmond and the Essex areas of Basildon, Brentwood & Thurrock) 
  • East Midlands (Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, and Rutland) 
  • Northern Ireland
  • North West England (Greater Manchester, Lancashire, and Isle of Man)
  • South West England (Avon, Cornwall, Devon, Gloucestershire and Somerset)
  • Wessex (Channel Islands, Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Wiltshire)

Job description

There are 15 Ë®¹ûÅÉ Regional Co-ordinators across the UK and they play a vital role in supporting the work of Ë®¹ûÅÉ at a regional level.

The four-year voluntary role is open to consultants and SAS doctors who are current members of Ë®¹ûÅÉ, or willing to join. (Trainees who are interested in being involved with Ë®¹ûÅÉ locally can become a Regional Trainee Rep.)

  • Co-ordinate Ë®¹ûÅÉ activities in the region and be a point of contact for local members
  • To work with the Ë®¹ûÅÉ Regional Trainee Representative for their area
  • Organise at least one Ë®¹ûÅÉ Regional meeting a year
  • Maximise membership of Ë®¹ûÅÉ through the promotion of the organisation with students, trainees and other paediatricians in the region
  • Cascade information on Ë®¹ûÅÉ activities to members in their Region Contribute to, and encourage regional members to participate in, consultation documents
  • Be a member of Ë®¹ûÅÉ Council, which meets twice a year (usually in June and December – attendance in person at RCPCH office in London, or remotely via MS Teams)
  • Write a report on Ë®¹ûÅÉ activities in your region for ‘ˮ¹ûÅÉ News’, as appropriate
  • To liaise with the relevant College Regional CCH Lead, on education and training for community trainees
  • At their end of their term, to seek a suitable replacement amongst the regional Ë®¹ûÅÉ members (and if unsuccessful, liaise with the Ë®¹ûÅÉ office to advertise the role)

It is estimated that the role requires one hour per week (equivalent to 0.25 PA).
